About Coach Brant

I will cut to the chase. You're simply not going to find another coach like me. I care deeply. Your life matters. Your success matters. Your family matters. They all matter to you, and they most definitely matter to me as well. Combining over 13 years of coaching experience and knowledge with enormous compassion, enthusiasm, vision, and awareness, I bring a level of coaching not normally seen. I've been through the fire so to speak. In the common way of being a top level athlete for most of my life, but more relatable, I'm a parent of 3. I am deeply involved in my children's lives. I understand what kind of demands parents have to deal with. From 2016 until 2023 I battled cancer along side my amazing wife, Karen. In 2022 it moved to her bones and lungs, progressing to stage 4. We lost her in August of 2023. I know what it's like to deal with relentless stress and pressure. I'm on this planet to help others. Coaching isn't a business to me, it's a way of life. I will meet you halfway and show you how to do things you have never thought possible.

If you're interested in learning how to do extremely hard things, how to not just survive but to thrive in all areas of life, I'd love to chat.

Background:
Being an athlete my entire life and having influential coaches has shaped my own philosophy in life. They not only taught me about the art of competing, but also of life experiences. Their impact developed in me a passion to become an effective coach, to help others achieve their goals and reach their full potential.

I am committed to getting you to the starting line of your next event in your best physical and mental shape, while avoiding injury. With my knowledge, experience, and passion, we will develop a plan specifically for you, implementing up-to-date techniques, testing, and training procedures in all aspects of cross training.

Personal Accomplishment and Goals:

I have coached many athletes, ranging from ages 3-80. These athletes participated in many sports, such as soccer, high school track and field, and both youth and adult triathlon. More specifically, I've trained triathletes in every distance from sprint to full Iron-distance races, leading them to age group and overall wins, age group Nationals Qualifiers, National Champions, World Champion Runner Up, World Champion, and all 3 major World Championship Qualifiers (ITU Age Group Worlds, Ironman 70.3 and Kona).

In route to becoming a full-time endurance coach, I've served as the head coach of the YMCA’s Adult Triathlon, Half Marathon, Endurance Training groups, Youth Triathlon Summer Camps, and Wellness and Personal Training Coordinator. In 2011 I was honored to be named the YMCA Employee of the Year.

Using my past experience as an athlete in soccer, basketball, and track in high school, and pole-vaulting for the Indiana University Track and Field Team, as well as my continued knowledge in triathlon, I've been able to personally find success as an amateur triathlete. I have competed in all distances from sprint to Ironman, including overall race wins, multiple overall podium finishes, and countless age group wins. I have achieved Age Group National Qualifying Status, All World Athlete Status from the WTC, and I am a 70.3 Ironman World Championship Qualifier.

In recent years my pursuits have be geared toward Ultra OCR, (Obstacle Course Racing). I've quickly found success and piled up wins, achieving my biggest win to-date this past November at Worlds Toughest Mudder World Championships. A 24 hour OCR race featuring the best athletes in the world. I competed 90 miles and over 300 obstacles to become an age group World Champion and place 7th overall.

I will continue to use my knowledge and experience in the sport of triathlon and OCR to help you reach your own personal goals. I am dedicated to continued learning so I can incorporate as much new knowledge and education this area has to offer.
