Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't find an answer to one of your questions here, please send me an e-mail or use the form on my contact page. Thanks.

01

Do I have to sign a contract?

No; I believe that a coach-athlete relationship has to be based on trust. If there is not trust, then the plan won't work. This is one reason I do not have contracts. I want you to get to know me and feel me out. If it seems like we aren't a good match then I don't want you to be stuck in an agreement you don't want to be in. I also know that unexpected things come up in life financially that are more important than triathlon. The last thing I want is for an athlete to have a bad stigma about coaches or triathlon because they are locked in a contract.

Payment is made at the beginning of each month, and plans are delivered week-by-week via email.

02

Can I be dropped as an athlete?

The short answer is yes, but very uncommon. There are only a two reasons an athlete would be dropped by me. One, they fail to make payments. I am very understanding with payments a couple days late, but failure to pay in a timely manner can result in stoppage of training plans and coaching. Two, if an athlete fails to do the assigned workouts or fails to relay information about workouts consistently, our relationship, your morale, and your results will suffer, as will my reputation as a coach. If you're going to invest in coaching, as I invest my heart and time in you, then I expect you to follow our plans and keep me updated on how training is going. Consistent accountability and encouragement will contribute much to our mutual success and joy in your journey.

03

Can I be part of a local training group and still be coached by you?

Absolutely! As mentioned in my services, the plans are tailored to each individual's needs and goals. If you like training within a group, then I will write your plans with that in mind. I have several athletes who currently do this.

04

If I get injured does payment stop?

Initially no. If you have a minor injury, I would expect you to continue payment and let me coach you through the injury. If it is something more serious that will take months to recovery from, then yes payment can be stopped and you can start again once you are able. But no refund is given for the remaining days in the month you are currently in.

05

Do I have to be a top end athlete to be coached?

Absolutely not! I work with all levels of athletes from brand new, to seasoned veterans. Most of my greatest success stories are of athletes brand new to sport who've gone on to have incredible performances after consistent coaching and training.
